My Best Investment as a Leader
Rewarding loyalty
I’ve learned that loyalty is priceless. A loyal employee isn’t just someone who sticks around; they’re the heart of our businesses.
These are the people who have your back, ready to solve problems and contribute to your shared success.
They’re the ones who know the quirks of your systems, and understand the unwritten rules of how things get done.
Their value compounds over time, like an investment portfolio.
But loyalty doesn’t appear out of thin air. It has to be earned, nurtured, and rewarded. If we want our employees to stay, grow, and thrive alongside us, we need to make sure they feel seen, valued, and challenged.
I break down why loyalty matters so much, and more importantly, how we can reward it in meaningful ways.
Why Loyalty Is an Investment Worth Making
Constant hiring, training, and onboarding is too exhausting and expensive. Research shows that replacing an employee can cost as much as 20% of their annual salary. Think about the disruption it causes beyond the financial cost:
- lost productivity
- low morale
- the time wasted trying to rebuild the momentum you had before.
